Project 52: Negative Space | Week 31
It's Week 31 of professional pet photography blog circle Project 52 and our theme this week is "negative space." Negative space in photography is the space around your subject. In other words, you don't want to have a lot of distraction around the subject in your images when utilizing negative space. That doesn't mean you can't have other objects or people in your image, but you want to make sure the focus of your image remains on the subject and is not distracted by ancillary objects.
For this week's challenge, Mr. Bojangles and I headed out to a new (for us) park in the Montgomery, Ohio area. I've driven by this park a million times, but have never been there before this week and wanted to branch out from our usual favorite local park. We took a walk around the park before our photo session in order to scope out the best locations. It was a warm day, so Mr. Bojangles is a little hot. I love using colorful playgrounds as settings for photos. Next up is Tim Evans Photography, photographing people and pets throughout Mississippi, after that head over to visit the rest of the blog circle until you end up back here.
If you would like to book a custom pet portrait session, use the hot pink "BOOK NOW" button to the right of this post (at the bottom of your screen on mobile), send us an email to suzi [at] petlovephotography.com, or give us a call at 513-288-1650 in the Greater Cincinnati area or at 650-382-3242 in the San Francisco Bay Area.
