Project 52: Eyes | Week 38
For Week 38 of professional pet photography blog circle Project 52 the eyes have it! When photographing a human or animal subject, there's nothing better than focusing on the yes. As the saying goes, the eyes are the window to our souls and animals are no exception to this. Dog have very expressive eyes and nothing is more expressive than the sad eyes of a hound dog. So, this week Stella is featured.
Stella is your typical hound who loves nothing better than to sleep, eat, and sniff things. She likes sleeping even more now that she is an older girl. I'm not exactly certain how old she is, but she's been a part of our family for almost ten years.
First up, I'm going to share one of my absolute favorites images of Stella where her beautiful, sad, and expressive eyes are featured. This image of her is from 2013, before she got so white and and before she had her stroke.
Here's a current picture of Stella. Her ears, face and head show a lot more white, and her eyes are beginning to cloud a bit, but they are still very expressive. Next up, the eyes have it with Kim with BARKography, based in Charlotte NC. After you visit Kim, head around the rest of the blog circle until you end up back here.

I LOVE the first, I feel the black and white really helps you connect with her!
It's amazing that, although she has aged, there is still so much expression and love in those eyes! Absolutely lovely!
I love everything about the first photo, the soulful look, the angle, the black and white. Stella is still a looker, even though older. So much character in her face!
I can see why the first image of Stella is one of your favorites. I love to photograph Beagles and hounds in general, the camera loves them. She looks as sweet as can be!
