Project 52: Leading Lines | Week 26

June 30, 2017  •  7 Comments

It's Week 26 of professional pet photography blog circle Project 52 and our theme this week is "leading lines." Leading lines are a compositional element used in photography (and other artistic works) that draws the viewer towards the subject, a certain direction in the image, or just add a visual element of interest. Leading lines don't necessarily have to be straight and can be composed of a variety of objects in the image.

Poor Mr. Bojangles, for the past few weeks he has been left out of my weekly blog project, but that omission is more than rectified this week. As many of you may know, Mr. Bojangles has a chihuahua girlfriend, Coco. He and Coco have been "dating" for the past several years, mostly meeting up at the monthly chihuahua playgroup that we go to with Cincinnati Chihuahuas. After a long courtship, Mr. Bojangles finally gave his girl a ring at our May play date. Coco said yes! So, Coco's mom, Tara, and I planned an engagement photo shoot for the two of them. We were finally able to do it this week and one of our locations fit perfectly into the leading lines theme. We took pictures at several different locations around Cincinnati, but these are from one of our favorite locations, Mt. Storm Park. This urban park is nestled high on a hill and features a gorgeous architectural element, the Temple of Love, once part of the large estate of Robert Bowler. The Temple of Love was the perfect setting for images with leading lines as the columns of the structure lead perfectly to our tiny subjects. So, without further adieu, here is a sneak peek of our engagement photo shoot. Chihuahua Love at Mt. Storm Park | CincinnatiChihuahua Love at Mt. Storm Park | Cincinnati

The third image is my favorite, but that was hard to pick, because I love them all! Lovely location and use of wide angle and leading lines!

Cute, cute, cute! While Mr. Bojangles is a handsome dude, Ms. Coco is a charmer.

Great setting for leading lines! I love the way it emphasizes how small they are while bringing out their personalities.
