Project 52: Slow Down | Week 50

December 16, 2016  •  4 Comments

We are almost done covering the lessons from "The Visual Toolbox: 60 Lessons for Stronger Photographers" by David DuChemin for our professional pet photography Project 52 blog posts. This week, we're at Week 50 and the topic of slowing down. The idea was to take our time to photograph subjects by letting the moments unfold. In a continuation of last week—because I really liked the images of my cat, Diana—I decided to continue with her as the subject. She has so many pretty colors in her fur that she can look different depending on which angle she is photographed from and she is  also a very playful cat, so is fun to watch. So, I slowed down by sitting and watching her as she, once again, lounged on her favorite pet sofa in the living room.

So, these are the things that Diana did while I slowed down to watch:

She laid on the sofa. (I also like how you can see how she has one back paw that is orange.) She cleaned herself. She stared at me. She played with a toy mouse. She laid on the sofa. So, when you slow down, you get to see some of the exciting things cats do. LOL! Now, let's slow down with About A Dog Photography, St. Cloud, Minnesota, and then head around the rest of the blog circle until you end up back here.

I almost did a kitty photo session for this week's theme as well. They can be lazily slow. The photo of Diana staring into the camera lens like she is memorizing it for later dispatching speaks perfect cat to me. :)
